Water is first for a reason. FEMA's guidance is one gallon per person per day for two weeks. Most people have a few bottles and a vague plan involving the tap, which stops being a plan the moment pressure fails.
Power decides how long you stay informed. A phone is a radio, a torch and a map until the battery goes, at which point it is a mirror.
Alerts without infrastructure is the question most people fail. If the grid and the towers are down, a hand-crank NOAA radio is the only thing still talking. It costs about the same as a takeaway.
